Privacy Policy

Everything above this line is written in our house voice. This section is not. It is the part that counts, it governs where the two disagree, and it is accurate as at the date of the last build shown at the foot of this page.

At PixelArc we are dedicated to safeguarding and respecting your privacy. This notice explains what we collect, why we hold it, who else is involved and what you can make us do about it. It is short because the site does little — and everything it says has been checked against what the site actually does, not against what we would like it to do.

What we collect from you

If you read this site and nothing else, we collect nothing about you. There is no sign-up, no wall and no profile.

There are four things you can send us, and each asks for its own:

  • An enquiry — your name, your email address, your company where you give one, and your message.
  • A job application — the role, your name, email, phone if you give one, a link to your work, when you could start, what you tell us about yourself, and your CV if you attach one.
  • The briefing list — your email address, and nothing else.
  • The Mirror audit — the website address you ask us to look at. No name, no email, no account.

Where a field is optional we say so on the form, and leaving it blank does not stop you sending it.

Emails and messages

When you email us, or message us on WhatsApp, we keep what you sent and the address or number it came from, so that we can reply and so the conversation makes sense next time. WhatsApp messages travel through WhatsApp, which is Meta's service and subject to Meta's own terms — that link leaves this site, and clicking it is the only thing that involves them.

The briefing list is separate

We will not add you to a mailing list because you asked us about a project, applied for a job, or ran an audit. Those are different things and this site keeps them apart. The briefing list is the box that says it is the briefing list, and every message it sends carries a way off it.

Cookies, and what is stored on your device

This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics and carries no tracking pixels. We do not build a profile of you and we do not know who you are unless you tell us.

One thing is stored on your own device: the score from the arcade game on the home page, kept in your browser's local storage so it survives a reload. It never leaves your machine, it is not sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Where your data is stored

What you submit goes to our own service and on to our own inbox. We use strict procedures and the security features our hosting provides, but no transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, so anything you send is sent at your own risk. Please do not put anything into a web form that you would not put in an email.

How we use it

  • To reply to you, and to do any work you go on to ask us for.
  • To consider you for a role, where you applied for one.
  • To send you the briefing, where you asked for it.
  • To meet obligations under any contract between us.
  • To tell you about a change to something you are already using.

That is the whole list. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not pass identifiable information to advertisers.

Who else is involved

We do not sell your personal data, and we never have. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not disclose it to a third party for money.

Four parties touch this site, and this is all of them:

  • Our host, which serves these pages and runs our form service. Like every web host it records the requests it serves, including your IP address.
  • Our delivery provider, which carries a submitted form to our inbox. It sees what you sent because it is the thing carrying it.
  • An image host, used for a small and shrinking number of background images. Your browser fetches those directly, so that host can see your IP address; we send no referrer, so it is not told which page you were reading.
  • WhatsApp, Instagram and LinkedIn — only if you click through to them, and only from that point on.

Our audit service also keeps IP addresses briefly in memory, purely to count requests per hour so that one visitor cannot use up everyone else's turn. Those counts are not stored, not linked to anything you sent, and disappear when the service restarts.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries — for as long as the conversation you started is live, and then for our own records. Ask and we delete them sooner.
  • Applications and CVs — while the role is open, and for six months after, so we can come back to you if something closer opens up. Ask and we delete them sooner.
  • The briefing list — until you leave it, at which point your address goes.

It is your responsibility to tell us when your details change; we will correct or remove them on request, though an archive copy may remain in our backups for a period before it ages out.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and under the GDPR if you are in the UK or the EU, you may ask us to:

  • show you what we hold about you, and tell you what we have done with it;
  • correct anything wrong or complete anything missing;
  • delete it;
  • restrict or object to what we do with it;
  • hand it over in a portable form, to you or to someone you name;
  • withdraw a consent you gave, without that being held against you;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights if you cannot.

Write to hello@pixelarc.co.in and we will answer within thirty days. There is no fee. If we get it wrong you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your own supervisory authority in the UK or EU.

If the business changes hands

If PixelArc is sold, or sells part of what it does, your information may pass to the buyer as part of that — but only what is necessary, and only under terms that keep this notice's promises intact.

Children

This site is meant for people doing business with us and people applying to work with us. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, and under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 we would need verifiable consent from a parent or guardian before we could. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes, and your consent

By sending us your details you agree to their use as set out here. If we change this notice we will change this page, and the build date at the foot of it will move — so you can always tell whether what you are reading is current. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
